About the Speaker:
Eyal is the Chairman of Israel's National Program for the Development of Substitutes for Oil in Transportation ("The Fuel Choices Initiative").
The Program serves as a catalyst for reduction of global dependency on crude oil by establishing Israel as a center of knowledge and industrial best practices in the field of fuel alternatives. Eyal chairs the government’s inter-departmental steering committee that determines the Program’s goals.
Reporting to the Prime Minister's Office, Eyal is head of the Program's administration, where he is responsible for developing and executing the Program's strategy while coordinating nine government departments participating in the Program.
Eyal brings to the Program twenty years of experience in different facets of the investment and business world.
Previously Eyal was the CEO of the Borovitz Mozes Group (BMG), a $3 billion privately held company controlling El Al – Israel Air Line, Sonol gas stations, Tambour paints, GES environmental solutions and other companies.
Eyal's 7-year tenure at BMG includes the acquisitions of EL AL, Israel's largest paint company Tambour, and energy holding company Granite. Eyal served as a board member and consultant to most of the Group's companies.
Prior to BMG, Eyal was a Vice President at Bankers Trust for five years, where he was responsible for the trading and sales in Israel.
Eyal was also an advisor to the Government of Israel and the Israeli Space Agency (2010), and has been serving on the board of the Israeli chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) from 2007 to 2012.
Eyal served as captain in the Israeli Navy after graduating with highest honors at the Naval Academy. He earned a BSc degree in Computer Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University. He is a passionate cyclist and has done the Tour de France (2006).
