Israeli films- as a form of art and an industry with powerful means of communication in turbulent times
Speaker: Dorit Inbar, Executive Director of the New Fund for Cinema and Television (NFCT)
It is our great pleasure to invite you to a unique opportunity to get to know a major driving force behind the huge success of Israeli cinema – the New Fund for Cinema and Television (NFCT), presented by Executive Director, Ms. Dorit Inbar.
Many if not most of the Israeli films you've loved in recent years wouldn't exist if not for NFCT's early-stage recognition and investment. Acclaimed award-winning films like Waltz ith Bashir, A Film Unfinished and The Green Prince - movies that broke our hearts and exalted our spirits - are among the gems NFCT has brought to the screen. Ms. Dorit Inbar, will present the NFCT and its work, taking us through major highlights, using clips and trailers of prominent NFCT films in a wide array of subjects (art and culture, history, minorities, women, borders and periphery and more).
As a teaser, we highly recommend you take a peek at this short and very engaging introduction to the NFCT, here. Don’t miss out on a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Israel through film.
