Imad Telhami, Chairman of Takwin Labs and Founder of Babcom Centersand

Itzik Frid, CEO and Managing Partner of Takwin Labs

Greetings by
Ambassador Ido Aharoni,
Consul General of Israel to New York

Integrating Arab citizens into Israel's thriving hi-tech industry has become a major national priority. Currently, fewer than 2% of hi tech professionals in Israel are Arab citizens, while thousands of Arab engineers are not employed in their field of study.

Arab textile executive Imad Telhami wanted to see the private sector take a lead in bringing high-tech growth industries to Israel's Arab society. In 2008, he launched Babcom Centers, a successful call and software development center in the North. In 2014, Telhami partnered with Erel Margalit (Jerusalem Venture Partners) and Chemi Peres (Pitango Capital) to launch a $20 Million Jewish-Arab start-up accelerator, Takwin Labs, as part of their vision greater Jewish-Arab cooperation and a thriving Arab tech sector in Israel.

Join us on to hear from Imad Telhami, Chairman, and Itzik Frid, CEO, of Takwin Labs about the current status of Arab integration into high tech and their vision for stronger Jewish-Arab relations and a thriving tech sector within Israel’s Arab society.
